Involvement in Paediatric Oncology Units in Public Hospitals over the years:
New Furniture 2014
It was with great excitement when the Devon Playland’s at Steve Biko and Baragwanath Paediatric Oncology Units received their new outdoor furniture.
Baragwanath Hospital 2015
The fund decorated the procedure room, put up all the vinyls on the cubicle windows, decorated the TV Room and installed the donor board. We created a Devon’s Playland by resurfacing the ground, installed artificial grass, repurposed the sponsored wooden jungle gym and swings, installed wooden riders, paved and sponsored the bikes. For security purposes for the units we enclosed the area with clear view fencing and gates.
Steve Biko Hospital 2015 onwards
Decorated the classroom and 2 x procedure rooms.
Created a Devon’s Playland.
Decorated the Princess Room, The Boys Garage Room and the Toddler Ward.
Recently revamped the parent’s waiting area.
Charlotte Maxeke Hospital 2015
The newly renovated Charlotte Maxeke Paediatric Oncology Unit receivd a make over from the Fund in the form of laser cut figurines and vinyls. The baby room, reception area, donors board and all the interior were sponsored by the Fund.
The Devon Vergne Fund sponsored a room and we got our curtains hung up.
