Who we are
Seonaid and Vernon established the Devon Vergne Foundation in 2006 after the loss of their son to cancer. They were driven by the need to stay connected with people affected by children’s cancer, initiate positive change, and, of course, honour the memory of Devon, who fought his battle with so much bravery and dignity.
Over the years, the Foundation has done a whole lot of good, inspiring hope and changing lives. We’ve gone from strength to strength and grown to include a board of directors and volunteers. Our directors are not remunerated – they are driven by a passion to help and love for what we do. That means all the funds we raise are used not only to benefit paediatric cancer patients and their parents affected by cancer but also to assist and support those involved in the treatment of paediatric cancer.
Whether at our various fundraisers, outreach events, or on site at our projects, our team members are keeping the memory of Devon alive by making a difference, nurturing hope, and funding change.
The Devon Vergne Foundation is a non-profit organisation incorporated in terms of Section 21 of the Companies Act of South Africa.
