MAKING A DIFFERENCE | NURTURING HOPE | FUNDING CHANGE

A positive mindset and outlook, result in better treatment and we believe that happy spaces make the process so much easier for the children as well as their caregivers and in the long run better for all involved.
We use a multi-faceted approach to implement this philosophy and ensure that the children suffering with cancer can have spaces and times that brighten their hospital stays and treatments – thereby making the journey a little bit more bearable.

Improvement Projects

The team identifies the areas that can be changed to make Devon Playlands or Playrooms. Our service providers have years of expertise in their fields to help us come up with new concepts and designs, upgrading of the spaces, and continuous monthly maintenance of these developed spaces over the years AND we ensure that the safety and well-being of patients are always our priority. (Please see PROJECTS to see the work we have done and will be doing).
Outreach & Volunteer Programmes

Our dedicated team ensures that patients in the paediatric cancer wards are kept in good spirits with regular visits to all the various hospitals. When the teams go out we provide Devon care packs to each patient as well as entertainment and ensuring special treats and drinks for patients and families alike.
Although a treat is always a hit so is someone sitting down with the kids to draw or make crowns – time, love and attention are always a much needed and appreciated tool in recovery.
Festive Events

Who doesn't love a good celebration? DVF ensures that no one gets left out of special events like Easter or Christmas. From organising special feasts down to Christmas boxes and even Mother Christmas to hand them out. Everyone deserves to feel noticed and special and these patients in our care are no different.
Funding Change

Devon Vergne Foundation has donated funds to a public hospital in the Free State to help fund ongoing research for groundbreaking children’s cancer treatment medication. Our Foundation is excited about being part of this research and we are hopeful for favorable outcomes so we can be part of creating cancer warriors.
